Omg, sitting watching this in tears, my golden lab Bonnie was just like this lovely animal. We lost her 2019 at 12 years old, she had an amazing life, long walks and was surrounded by family who loved her, I think about her every day with heavy heart knowing I will never forget her. This parallels my experience….. in 1982, when I was running along a deserted country road, a small, white, fluffy puppy barked at me from a ditch. He was accompanied by two small kittens, that he was trying to keep track of. They’d obviously been dumped minutes earlier. Since I couldn’t carry all three back home, I ran back as fast as I could, and zoomed back in my truck and brought all three home. We found a home for the kittens, but “Tyrone” was ours! My kids were six and four. Tyrone gave us 14 wonderful years! And, like the dog in the video, he loved a tennis ball….👍❤️

Too underrated

Lost my beagle of 14.5 years this week. I'm 52, I've never know pain like it.

Our dog turned 16 and a half years old, just a couple of days ago. When he was diagnosed with cancer for the 2nd time, we decided to opt for quality of life. We asked our vet if Brodie had a year, and she told us, "I wouldn't be that optimistic." That was over 2 years ago when Brodie was 14. We have only given him CBD from Dogs Naturally online. Even with this extra gift of time, it still hurts to even think about him being gone. I can not imagine life without his sweet cuteness and funny personality. We take one day at a time. His appetite is great. He still wags his tail and barks at playful gestures. I know it could change suddenly, but for now, he is still here and happy. What a blessing he is!

I too have lost a few pets over the years. I feel your pain. We are so lucky to have them in our lives. My husband would often say to me loosing them is too painful. When we lost our two dogs (they were siblings) two days apart in 2022, it really broke him. I couldn’t bring another dog home. Just couldn’t let my husband go through that again.

13 years, 8 months, 3 weeks, 6 days, 10 hours, 22 minutes... From start, to finish and not a single day goes by I don't recall any or all of it. Everything we do, did or got done , happened because of one small 12 pound bundle of fur and unconditonal love. All of it, even that last morning which, I had hoped, would never come. Time..... Can be neither made, nor saved. It's the one thing I could not protect you from or against. For B Bear, Shih Tzu, 11 November 2005 - 27 August 2021. My best furry freind. I greive, right along side of every one of you, and will for the rest of my life.

Beautiful. I decided to torture myself and watch this; remembering all the wonderful memories and the heartbreaking moments that had to come with my own pets. I remember our dog, Ginger, who lived to be 14 years old. She had a stroke and my dad took her for her last journey. I could tell he cried on the way home and he said he would never do it again. He never adopted another pet again. It broke his heart. I decided that there are too many animals that need a home, so I would not take that stance. I'm 63 years old; my heart's been broken a lot, but my God, I still remember all the love, laughs, silliness and amazement. Currently, I have two shelter cats that were strays. I love them so much; the cycle continues, but I believe some day, we will all be together for eternity. That belief helps me move on from the pain of loss, to adopting again.

Why did I watch this? I can’t stop crying, thinking about the three dogs in my life that I had to bring to be euthanized for old age. I just got over the last, most beloved, one of three years ago.

Thank you for our encounter, for let me save you that day, for all the joy and happiness you brings to my and my family's life, for let me accompany you to the last of your journey. Choosing to put down my dogs were the hardest decisions I've ever make. When my friend said it's you or her to suffer, I just knew what I had to do. And I believe staying with your dogs until their last breath is the right thing to do. It's the last thing you can do for them.
